The program, part of the Taiwan\u2013Hong Kong Joint College initiative, brought together students from both institutions to engage in cross-cultural learning and in-depth exploration of Taiwan\u2019s immigrant communities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"464\" data-end=\"919\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1689\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1689\" style=\"width: 933px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1689\" src=\"https:\/\/gecenter.nccu.edu.tw\/wp-content\/uploads\/517886773_24168647109418876_3843919450029342660_n-e1753176509950.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"933\" height=\"700\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1689\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span style=\"font-size: 20px;font-family: Arial\">\u00a0Student presentation. (Photo courtesy of Prof. Ya-Ping Wang)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p data-start=\"921\" data-end=\"1373\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 24px\">Taiwan\u2013Hong Kong Student Teamwork to Understand Taiwan\u2019s New Immigrants<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"921\" data-end=\"1373\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 24px\">Over the course of two weeks, mixed student teams conducted fieldwork in Southeast Asian enclaves across Taipei. The course design was inspired by the \u201cLittle Flying Heroes Workshop\u201d organized by <em data-start=\"1117\" data-end=\"1160\">Brilliant Time: Southeast Asian Bookstore<\/em>. Through site visits, expert lectures, and hands-on workshops, participants expanded their perspectives, gained insights into the lives of new immigrants, and documented Taiwan\u2019s evolving multicultural society.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1375\" data-end=\"1839\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 24px\">This year, the program further incorporated the NCCU <em data-start=\"1428\" data-end=\"1449\">USR Grocery Project<\/em>, guiding students to the Zhongzhen Community in Longgang, Taoyuan, as well as the Taoyuan Youth Bureau Startup Hub. Professor Ya-Ping Wang of NCCU\u2019s Department of Ethnology noted that these activities not only enabled Hong Kong students to step beyond Taipei and New Taipei but also challenged their stamina. She humorously described the program\u2019s pace as being \u201clike drinking espresso.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1375\" data-end=\"1839\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1697\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1697\" style=\"width: 933px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1697\" src=\"https:\/\/gecenter.nccu.edu.tw\/wp-content\/uploads\/518270212_24168701176080136_2462477297979820579_n.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"933\" height=\"700\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gecenter.nccu.edu.tw\/wp-content\/uploads\/518270212_24168701176080136_2462477297979820579_n.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/gecenter.nccu.edu.tw\/wp-content\/uploads\/518270212_24168701176080136_2462477297979820579_n-1536x1152.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 933px) 100vw, 933px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1697\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial;font-size: 20px\">Students at the presentation event. Their reports highlighted exceptional creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving capacity.
